We are currently looking for an External Relations Manager to join our team in a permanent capacity. Reporting through to the External Relations Director, you will be responsible for executing our external corporate communications strategies. This role has a strong focus on telling Lion’s story across all external channels, including traditional and social media.  You will work closely with the wider External Relations team where your role intersects with policy and regulatory affairs and Lion’s sustainability strategy, as well as partnering our marketing teams on consumer brand PR campaigns.

 

Your proven experience in communications strategy development and execution, great media relations skills, sound judgement and a strong understanding of the media and political landscape will set you up for success. Your learning agility, collaborative approach and adaptability will be key.

 

Knowledge and experience needed for the position:

  • In-house or agency Corporate Affairs and Communications experience.
  • Strong media networks across business and general news media and sound knowledge of the media landscape.
  • Sound judgement and understanding of reputation matters.
  • Experience in crisis communication and managing media issues.
  • Ability to work autonomously to tight timeframes and juggle multiple priorities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to engage with and form strong relationships (trusted and credible) with internal and external stakeholders.
