Treasury Accounting Manager

We are looking for a leader to join our Group Financial Reporting team in the role of Treasury Accounting and Reporting Manager. This leadership position will drive strategic and tactical outcomes, mentor and develop a team, business partner a wide range of stakeholders and demonstrate a collaborative and learning leadership style. 

As the leader of the Treasury Middle & Back Office, the successful applicant will contribute directly to the execution of Lion’s Treasury Risk Management objectives.  The role is based in Sydney Olympic Park and reports to the Group Financial Controller, key responsibilities include: 

  • Financial and Statutory Reporting – lead the team’s delivery of monthly, statutory, and board reporting on all Treasury related activities;  
  • Budgeting and forecasting – drive effective cash management across the organisation by providing funding recommendations through insightful cash flow forecasting;
  • Provide technical accounting advice in relation to Treasury Accounting related transactions/proposals;
  • Own the transactional banking relationship; manage required transactional banking administration with Lion’s external banking partners;
  • Business Partnering – provide a broad range of financial insight, analysis, and technical support to Key Business Partners, including the Treasurer and Commercial Finance Teams;  
  • Projects – lead and execute value adding projects and innovations within the team.  
  • Governance – lead the Treasury J-SOX annual audit;
  • People Management – coach and develop the onshore and offshore treasury middle & back office team.

The successful applicant will have experience in delivering the above as well as being able to demonstrate consistent achievement against goals. You will have strong treasury, hedge accounting, and systems knowledge, including relevant accounting standards; a strong understanding of business policy and processes, including internal controls, corporate governance, and financial reporting; a drive to deliver on multiple work streams; and experience leading a team to improve efficiency and governance.

 In additional, the following skills and qualifications are necessary:

  • a strong accounting/treasury background gained from +5 years post CA/CPA qualification experience within a corporate treasury team;
  • demonstrated leadership capability and impact
  • excellent communication and engagement skills
  • experience in leading change and engaging teams
  • exposure to FIS’s Integrity Treasury system is preferred
