We currently have a rewarding permanent full-time opportunity in our Supply Chain team at Smithfield as a Site Engineer. This position will be reporting into the Engineering & Reliability Team Leader.
 

You will be responsible for the implementation of effective asset care for the site and facilities including contractor management, the design, scope and preparation of business cases for improvement works in facilities and the analysis and reporting on EMS performance.
 

Ensuring site safety, you will specifically be responsible for:
 

• Improving workforce productivity through eliminating potential delays by Developing Plans and Schedules for maintenance work based on demand, workload, skill sets and available parts
• Ensuring the effective use and continued development of computerised maintenance management processes
• Ensuring activities are planned and scheduled in accordance with the needs of production and logistics and coordinating equipment downtime
• Keeping abreast of activities in engineering projects and major improvement activities and using this information to align maintenance priorities
• Coordinating maintenance work for any external contractors, spare parts needs through the stores, and any regulatory requirements such as power outages
• Working with Continuous Improvement to recommend and implement improvements to the maintenance regime for equipment
• Analysing suppliers and parts to determine opportunities for cost saving and performance improvement
• Understanding the criticality of parts and stock holding policies
• Developing long term plans to ensure plant performance, both short and long term
• Preparing work orders and ensuring parts are available for all maintenance activities

Critical to your success will be your problem-solving and relationship management skills. You will also have a strong knowledge of maintenance systems, processes and technical know-how. You will be able to work effectively in a team environment and will demonstrate change management, stakeholder engagement, leadership and results-driven skill sets.
 

Kirin and Lion announced on Thursday 26 November 2020 that they have entered into a sale agreement to sell the Dairy & Drinks business to Bega Cheese Limited (Bega).
 

We believe Bega, an established dairy and food company with more than 120 years of heritage, is well placed to drive the Dairy & Drinks business forward given its deep dairy capabilities and strong commitment to iconic Australian brands and the local dairy industry.
 

The sale is unconditional, including no further regulatory approvals required and is expected to be completed in early 2021.
