We’re proud to make, market and distribute some of Australia’s most iconic dairy and juice brands including Dairy Farmers, Pura, Dare Iced Coffee, Farmers Union, Yoplait, Daily Juice, The Juice Brothers and Zooper Dooper. Every year we purchase more than 750 million litres of milk from about 280 Australian dairy farmers and crush more than 40,000 tonnes of fruit from around 80 orange growers across the country.

We are a passionate, culture driven organisation and we are offering the opportunity for engineering graduates to be part of our 2021 graduate program within our Supply Chain teams and located at our Wetherill Park and Smithfield sites. As part of this 2 year program, you will have the chance to work across a number of facets of the site operations, while also being provided with the opportunity to work with some of Australia’s leading brands.

The Supply Chain (Engineering) Graduate Programs at Wetherill Park and Smithfield consist of opportunities to work on operational activities including:

  • Supporting the site safety plan by performing risk assessments, writing JSAs and ensuring the safety of contractors on site
  • Identifying and delivering value creation through participation in focus teams, and creating process improvements
  • Assisting leaders in the preparation of CAPEX business cases
  • Rotating through the Engineering, Quality, Production and Operational Excellence teams at Wetherill Park, and Reliability, Engineering and Manufacturing, Operational Excellence and Technical/Quality at our Smithfield site
  • Supporting the implementation of OPEX through participation in relevant taskforce activities
  • Leading teams in team leader absences and other opportunities, across different shifts, particularly regarding moving products

While the majority of the learning takes place by getting your hands dirty on the job, you will also be supported by an extensive graduate learning and development program which includes opportunities to connect with other Lion Dairy & Drinks Graduates across Australia


What does Lion look for in a Graduate?

  • Degree qualifications: Engineering disciplines including controls, chemical, automation and process engineering
  • Project experience in an academic/volunteer/internship or workplace capacity. Project management will hold you in good stead
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • The ability to build and maintain effective relationships with a range of people in various contexts
  • The initiative to identify and implement improvements to processes and/or environments
  • A sense of curiosity and inquisitiveness
  • Ability to handle ambiguity, pressure and deadlines
  • Safety is at the core of everything we do, our graduates need to have a strong safety focus

Most importantly you are motivated and demonstrate our culture and values. You have excellent interpersonal skills, a strong worth ethic while also being curious, innovative and willing to learn. You are as passionate as we are about delivering on our core purpose of championing sociability and helping people to live well.
What you need to know

  • You are an Australian/New Zealand citizen or Australian Permanent Resident at the time of your application (essential)
  • You will have completed your degree in the last 2 years (or be due to complete it by January 2021)
  • You must be able to commence full time from the role start date, February 2021
