Supply Chain Environment Leader

In this permanent full time opportunity and based at our central Melbourne Docklands (Vic) office, the Supply Chain Environent Leader reports to the Quality Research & Development and Environment Director. This position contributes to building and enhancing the environmental reputation of Lion Dairy & Drinks.

The role works closely with the Quality Research & Development and Environment Director to identify and implement strategic EMS improvements which are integrated throughout the business. This is an important co-ordination role for the Supply Chain Environmental Management System strategy and plays a critical role in sustaining and improving our environmental credentials .

As the successful candidate, your responsibilities will include environmental governance and compliance, reporting and acting as an Environment Business Partner for the supply chain Logistics & Agricultural Procurement Teams. You will manage the legal compliance and internal audits program, support sites to manage their Aspects & Impacts Register and develop and deliver Environmental Training Modules as part of the Environmental Capability Strategy.

In addition, you will identify and lead opportunities for improvement and efficiencies, and assist in driving better environmental practices and performance whilst ensuring compliance. You will also be involved in leading the rollout of corporate and site environmental procedures and policies.

Our ideal candidate brings with them:

  • Experience in the management of an environment portfolio for a large organisation.
  • Experience working within an FMCG manufacturing environment
  • Experience in the hands on management of Environmental Management Systems (EMS)
  • Demonstrated understanding and experience in Life Cycle Assessment for FMCG manufacturing
  • Significant demonstrated experience in managing contemporary environmental issues and leading strategic environmental improvement programs.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and managing environmental legal compliance and assurance programs (including internal audits).
  • Proven experience in a leading role to develop and implement fit for purpose ISO14001:2015 certified (or aligned) environmental management systems (including drafting standards and procedures)
  • Coaching & developing others
  • Environmental Management/Science, Environmental Engineering background

This role would suit an experienced Environmental professional who is passionate about driving great environmental outcomes and efficiencies through engaging and influencing people to take accountability and change the way they have done things in the past. A competitive salary within the range $90,000- $110,000  is on offer commensurate with experience.
