Established in 1994, Wither Hills (owned under the Lion portfolio) is dedicated to the philosophy that exceptional wines are ‘created in the vineyard’. Named after the landmark Wither Hills range that borders our vineyards, our expert team grow and craft exceptional wines that reflect our unique sense of place. 

We have a number of positions available within our friendly winery team at Wither Hills in Marlborough for the upcoming vintage.


    Working closely with the Shift Supervisors, this position requires those who can lead, train and supervise a small team of people, have strong communication skills and be familiar with cellar operations. You will make health and safety a priority and ensure all tasks are completed to a high-standard and efficiency is maintained.
    Cellar hands will perform tasks such as cleaning, grape receival processing, racking, red and white ferment management, additions, barrel work and more.
    Your previous experience working in a winery will allow you to hit the ground running, however we will provide full training and support to all new starters, regardless of industry background.
    The position will involve conducting routine analysis on juice & wine samples as well as data entry.  Full training and support will be provided to all new starters, however a qualification in Science would be advantageous.
    This role involves working across all areas and teams. It requires strong logistical, communication and organisational skills. Your previous forklift experience is key to your success in this role.
    A current NZ approved forklift licence is necessary, however if your licence has recently expired, we will support you in the renewal process.
    Depending on the season, work will commence in February 2020 and finish around the end of April 2020.  During the peak of harvest, team members will be required to work 12-hour shifts, six days a week.  We’ll provide everyone with a delicious meal during 12-hour shifts and get together for the odd social event.
