Commercial Finance Analyst-Beer

Role Purpose:

Responsible for partnering with our Little Creatures leadership team to provide actionable insights through analysis and reporting. Reporting to the Commercial Manager, this role is a key member of the Finance team and works closely with the Little Creatures Mission Bay managers and Wholesale sales team in San Francisco requiring periodic travel to the venue.

Accountabilities:

  • Support LC Mission Bay with CAPEX projects to ensure project managers are kept up to date on project spend and assets are capitalized timely
  • Build effective management reporting tools for business partners to track performance vs. plan (P&L, Monthly hours and Overhead reporting)
  • Build & maintain item costing & wastage analysis on all food & drink menu items
  • Provide the Wholesale Sales team with Monthly Sales, Depletion, and marketing spend reporting
  • Create & maintain a daily aged accounts receivable (AR) report for Wholesale sales team
  • Reconcile the quarterly Sales team commission payments
  • Create and update all forecasting models for beer sales (venue & wholesale) for accurate demand & production planning
  • Support all New Product Development (NPD) activities acting as the liaison into our broader Finance & Supply Chain teams
  • Provide Month End Close support through Site Inventory Reconciliations, Deliver charges review and Variance to Cost of Sales (COS) analysis – researching and providing commentary on any material variances
  • Support the annual planning and forecast processes (AOP/CAF) for Operations ensuring alignment of key assumption drivers with business partners
  • Develop financial and commercial acumen of key stakeholders

Experience:

  • 1 to 3 years' experience in delivering business results through risk and opportunity identification and planning
  • Delivering system and process continuous improvement initiatives
  • Track record of generating and sharing insights to align stakeholders on the next steps

Skills:

  • Strong action orientation to deliver accurate outcomes
  • Ability to build strong relationships across business units and functions
  • Ability to handle high levels of ambiguity and complexity
  • Strong organizational, problem solving, and analytical skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities across stakeholders
  • Excellent communication skills, able to succinctly share key issues
  • Demonstrated ability to drive change and continuous improvement
  • Proven ability to develop an in-depth understanding of key business drivers

Knowledge:

  • Degree qualified in business or related field
  • Advanced Excel skills crucial
  • Modeling and Forecasting skills crucial
  • Experience with Micros a plus
