Our Dairy and Drinks Reliability Team has a vacancy for a Mechanical Technician - Asset Care. The role requires flexibility to work both 24/7 rotating shifts and day work, as business requirements flex throughout the year. This role reports to the Reliability Team Leader and is based at our Burnie site, The Heritage.

As a member of our Reliability team, you will be responsible for assisting with the development and implementation of reliability systems across the site. You will ensure site standards for work and solutions are developed and adhered to and you will be seen as a technical expert, assisting with focussed improvement projects.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Making Safety a priority & supporting a Safety First Culture within the team
  • Ensuring that safe work practices are adhered to at all times
  • Maintaining strict site GMP requirements
  • Execution of Planned Maintenance tasks
  • Providing timely reliability support to the production team with the ability to coach and mentor.
  • Supporting the implementation of MEX (Manufacturing Excellence). 

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • A Safety First approach
  • Relevant Trade qualification
  • Knowledge and competence in the use of CMM Systems
  • Proven process improvement and strategic problem solving skills
  • Demonstrated capability in building effective partnerships, cross functionally in a high performance environment
  • Strong communication and reporting skills with high attention to detail (record keeping)
  • The ability to work autonomously, be highly motivated, and have a "do anything" attitude. This role also involves rotating shift work.

The following skills and knowledge will also be highly regarded:

  • A broad understanding of processing and packaging in FMCG and the food and beverage industry
  • TIG welding experience in stainless
  • Knowledge of pneumatics and machining
  • Experience in optimisation and continuous improvement projects.
